41st Mountain Moonshine Festival

October 27th, 2008 · 3 Comments

Whew! The 41st Mountain Moonshine Festival has now come to a close. I had a wonderful time meeting new people and hanging out with old friends. The weather was beautiful and we had record crowds out looking at my pottery.

Indoor/Outdoor Salt & Pepper Shakers

Salt Shaker Bottom ViewI completely sold out of my indoor/outdoor pottery salt and pepper shakers by Saturday afternoon. The photos above and to the right show the pottery salt and pepper shakers. There is no hole in the top, so they can sit outside on a table and the contents stay clean and dry. The hole is at the top of a raised prong in the bottom. When you shake it, the salt or pepper bounces up and some of it comes out of the hole on to your food. Pretty cool if I do say so myself!! Many folks looked at them on Saturday and came back to buy on Sunday to realize that they missed out. I always take orders. So, if you ordered custom pottery from me this weekend, I’ll be working away to get your pottery to you ASAP!

My Pottery Apple Bakers are still puzzling many passers by! They ask me, “Why does this bowl have this thing in the middle? What’s it used for?”

I always return with the question, “What do you think is the purpose?” Once they understand the function and find out about the blog with recipes they get excited. This, in turn, usually leads to me selling them some pottery!

I think your apple bakers are so cool! I hope to win your giveaway, but what a lot of competition!
You can always count on me for a review and giveaway in the future if you want! Hint hint

Your face mugs are pretty cute, too.

I told my husband about your apple bakers and it got him wanting to learn to make them. Our neighbor has a wheel, but we don’t know about a kiln. I’ll have to ask her.

Hi! Just curious – how do you fill your indoor/outdoor salt & pepper shakers??

To fill the Pottery Salt & Pepper Shakers you hold them upside down and pour the salt (or pepper) into the funnel shaped opening. Then a few gentle taps will help it pour through the hole and fill the inside of the container.
